Initial paper about phonyx.
Abstract
There are many VoIP systems and software in the world. Some of them are focused to ease configuration, some to do big interoperability, and some are focused to one VoIP pro- tocol. Each of them has some advantages and disadvantages. We made OpenPhonyx which chooses its own way. Even if it is software today, it aims to be hardware platform in future. We want to develop PBX, which will be highly stable and usable for real business. Our primary goal is not easy con- figuration, but highly customizable system, controlled via XML and command line interface. We will support embed- ding and distribution by images and patches. This article will try to explain our primary mission and future plans.
